LEGAL / PRIVACY
A plain-language explanation of what Borderless collects, why we use it, and the choices you have.
LAST UPDATED / 17 AUGUST 2026Borderless Language House, operated by 山下 真太朗 / Shintaro Yamashita, provides the Borderless Online Japanese Program. In this policy, “Borderless,” “we,” and “us” refer to the organization responsible for the information described below.
We may collect information you choose to provide, including:
Our hosting and security systems may also process limited technical information, such as an approximate country, browser or device information, IP address, request logs, and timestamps.
For cookie-free website measurement, we record limited events such as a page view, trial-button click, form start or completion, and AI Guide opening. These records include the page, date, approximate country, referring site domain, and a short-lived one-way visitor identifier. We do not include form answers or chat content in analytics events.
We also use Google Analytics 4 with analytics and advertising storage denied. The Google tag is configured not to write analytics or advertising cookies, use advertising signals, or send URL query strings. It receives query-free page paths and content-free interaction labels so we can understand aggregate visits, popular pages, devices, and referral sources. Google may process limited cookieless measurement signals under its own privacy and security terms.
If you choose “Allow measurement,” we load Meta Pixel to understand whether a Facebook or Instagram advertisement leads to a site visit or completed trial application. Meta may receive the page visited, advertising and campaign parameters, browser or device information, and a Schedule event after an application is successfully saved. Borderless does not send your name, email address, form answers, or chat content through this Pixel.
We use personal information only for purposes connected with operating and improving Borderless, including to:
If we want to use your information for a materially different purpose, we will provide an appropriate notice or request consent where required.
Ask Borderless answers common questions from a fixed set of verified Borderless information. Its normal website response path does not send your question to the OpenAI API and does not deliberately save chat transcripts in the trial application database.
To prevent automated or abusive use, we temporarily retain limited security counters linked to a one-way hashed network and device identifier. These records help us warn or temporarily lock unusually repetitive activity without storing the raw chat message in the protection record.
Please do not enter passport numbers, payment details, medical information, or other sensitive information into the guide. The guide does not make personal placement, pricing-exception, or availability decisions; those are confirmed by a human.
We do not sell personal information. We may allow service providers to process only the information reasonably necessary to provide hosting, data storage, security, AI responses, email or communications, payment, scheduling, measurement, and operational support.
Trial applications and schedule decisions may be made available in a separate, access-controlled Borderless administration system. Approved operational events may create automated emails, reminders, and time-limited sign-in links. Email delivery providers process the recipient address and message content only to deliver and secure these communications.
When you allow optional marketing measurement, Meta processes Pixel event information under its own privacy and business-tool terms. Declining this measurement does not prevent you from viewing the site or applying for a trial.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business succession. A service provider processing information on our behalf is expected to handle it under appropriate contractual and security controls.
Borderless serves learners in multiple countries and uses online service providers. Your information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live, including in Japan and in countries where our providers operate. We take reasonable steps appropriate to the service and applicable law when using such providers.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including follow-up, learner administration, dispute prevention, security, and legal or accounting requirements. The period depends on the relationship, the type of record, and whether an application becomes an enrollment.
We use reasonable organizational and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Depending on applicable law, you may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information and request access, correction, deletion, suspension of use, or an explanation of our handling. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.
Optional Meta measurement is off until you allow it. You may decline without losing access to the site or trial form, and you can change the saved choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer.
To make a privacy request, email info@borderless-ja.com, or use the contact form and write “Privacy request” in the notes. You may also choose not to submit the trial form or not to use the AI Guide.
Links to services such as LINE are governed by those services’ own privacy policies. This policy applies to Borderless and this website; it does not control an external service after you leave the site.
When you use the corporate inquiry form, we collect the organization and contact details, expected participant count, training goals, preferred timing, and message you choose to provide.
We use this information to review the request, discuss requirements, prepare a proposal, and communicate with the organization. The inquiry and related email history are available only in the access-controlled Borderless owner administration system and to service providers needed for secure hosting and email delivery.
We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way.
This policy describes the current website, AI Guide, cookie-free analytics, application administration, automated operational email, and secure trial-access links. It should be reviewed again before payments, the full learner application, or materially different data use is introduced.
